When you enter the Okavango Delta, you step into one of the world's most extraordinary wilderness areas. Each year, floodwaters from the Angolan highlands spread across the heart of the Kalahari, creating a vast oasis of winding channels, palm-fringed islands and seasonally flooded grasslands. This ever-changing landscape supports an incredible abundance of life and has sustained local communities and wildlife for thousands of years.
We will explore the islands and water channels on foot and by mokoro, sharing the space with elephant, hippo, lechwe, giraffe, zebra and so much more. The area is teeming with birdlife: kingfishers, herons and the iconic fish eagle whose call will become a signature of our journey. We become a part of an ecosystem where we begin to understand our place in the circle of life.
What makes the Okavango truly special is its sense of space and wildness. Large areas remain untouched by development, allowing natural processes to unfold much as they have for centuries.
